WHAT IS KYBELLA™?
Submental fullness, also commonly referred to as a double chin appearance, is a natural cosmetic concern that is common among aging adults. This aesthetic condition can also develop as a result of genetics and weight gain, and cannot always be targeted with diet and exercise.
Kybella™ is comprised of deoxycholic acid, which is found naturally in the body and aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. Kybella™ is a prescribed treatment that, when injected directly into the chin area, destroys fat cells and prevents them from storing or accumulating fat.
Multiple injections may be necessary in order to achieve desired results. Dr. Hall and Dr. Wrye will discuss your cosmetic goals with you during your consultation in order to achieve optimal results.
IS KYBELLA™ SAFE?
Kybella™ has been clinically tested and has a proven safety profile. The most common side effects are slight bruising, redness, swelling or itching at injection sites. Major complications are rare and will be discussed with you prior to treatment.
This injectable treatment is safe for most skin types and conditions, although individuals who have an infection in targeted areas may be advised to wait before receiving Kybella™.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Most patients experience visibly improved chin contours after two to four sessions that are spaced about a month apart. Up to six sessions may be recommended depending on desired results.
Although treated fat cells are permanently disabled, future weight gain and the aging process can lead to a recurrence of submental fat in the lower face. Maintaining a healthy body weight can help add longevity to your results.
Results of Kybella™ treatment may vary from patient to patient, but with over 20 clinical trials and 2,600 treatments performed worldwide, Kybella™ is a safe and effective alternative to invasive surgical procedures.
